Anyone familiar with Donald Trump’s vile personality is very well aware that the president lacks the ability to regulate his emotions and solve conflicts like an adult. This couldn’t be more obvious than right now, as Trump freaks out and the White House crumbles around his Chief of Staff’s involvement in the latest scandals.
White House Chief of Staff John Kelly has been making headlines this week, and this time it’s not for talking some sense into Trump. Kelly has actually been causing his own trouble in the White House. For example, Kelly began the week by telling reporters that the reason DACA-eligible immigrants wouldn’t sign up for protection was that they were “too lazy to get off their asses.” That didn’t go over too well. Kelly had another massive f*ck up after that, when he issued a statement defending former White House staffer Rob Porter after allegations of spousal abuse came to light.
Now that Kelly is giving the Trump administration all sorts of bad press, Trump is flying off the handle. According to the New York Times, Trump is so furious that he’s actually calling people up to tell them how mad he is at Kelly for bringing even more shame to his White House. Insanely enough, one of these people happens to be Reince Priebus — Trump’s former Chief of Staff and the man whose job he gave to Kelly! The Times reported:
Among the many people agitated this week over John F. Kelly, the White House chief of staff, was President Trump. And among the people the president called to express dissatisfaction, according to those close to him, was none other than Reince Priebus, the previous chief of staff, who also irritated Mr. Trump.”
Seriously — it takes a special kind of psychopath to call up the person who was fired to complain about their replacement. It’s interesting that Trump seems to think nothing of it when he makes headlines for making racist statements and abusing women — but when it’s someone else dirtying his administration’s reputation, he’s suddenly furious.
