Donald Trump has yet to personally make a statement about the latest White House scandal that is haunting the Trump administration, but sources say he’s beyond furious about it.
Recently, Trump aid Robert Porter has resigned due to spousal abuse allegations, which were backed up by graphic photos of his bruised ex-wife, Colbie Holderness, who had a black eye in the photo.
According to a report by Vanity Fair, a Republican close to Trump stated that Trump “was f*cking pissed” when his daughter Ivanka showed him the photo of Porter’s battered ex-wife. This GOP source has also stated that Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, are now looking for a replacement for Chief of Staff John Kelly because he aggressively defended Porter in a public statement.
And this mess gets even more tangled — Vanity Fair was told by another source in the White House that Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, had called Trump personally last night to tell him that he should fire Kelly. Ironically enough, Lewandowski also had allegations of beating women against him. But then, there’s no shortage of woman abusers formerly or currently surrounding the commander-in-chief: Steve Bannon, Steve Wynn, Lewandowski, and Andy Puzder have all been accused by multiple women of abusive behavior.
Trump is also furious that his White House communications director, Hope Hicks, has spoken out against the Porter allegations. Hicks, who was dating Porter, didn’t hesitate to defend him — without Trump’s consent.
Perhaps Trump has now gotten a taste of his own medicine as his White House staff begins to act without him and cannot be controlled. However, it’s certainly odd that Trump would choose now to be upset about his people defending a man who abuses women — especially since he has previously backed serial child rapist Roy Moore and many others who have violated and abused women. And let’s not even get into Trump’s own horrendous history of sexually assaulting women.
It could not be more clear that Trump’s White House is falling apart — and it’s thanks to its own dysfunction.
