California Republican Devin Nunes is in the middle of what the Washington Post calls a “bizarre and outrageous” scheme. Several officials, including Trump-appointed FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein, warned President Trump that releasing this proposed Nunes memo would do great harm to the Intelligence community and undermine national security. The FBI added that the Nunes report is misleading, but President Trump is still going forward with the release of the memo, just to spite the FBI and the Justice Department, who are currently investigating him. President Trump is hellbent in releasing this to taint investigators and to slime past the legal and political consequences of Russian collusion or wrongdoing.
An Orchestrated Attempt To Protect Donald Trump
Nunes won’t even respond to inquiries from the public. When reporters asked him about the memo, and if he was glad that the committee voted, Nunes responded by saying “talk to the Democrats. They talk to you, I don’t.”
Under the Trump administration, Congressional Republicans and the GOP have decided to hide information from the public, passing legislation in the middle of the night, and skewing optics to make themselves seem favorable. Instead of transparency, the current form of the Republican Party has decided that they work around people and view them as obstacles, instead of valiant people who want and deserve the truth.
Nunes Is Altering The Memo As We Speak
Adam Schiff, the House Intelligence Committee’s ranking Democrat, released a statement accusing Nunes of actually altering the memo the committed voted and agreed on.
Schiff had this to say about the altered memo: “It is now imperative that the Committee Majority immediately withdraw the document that it sent to the White House. If the Majority remains intent on releasing its document to the public, despite repeated warnings from DOJ and the FBI, it must hold a new vote to release to the public its modified document.”
GOP, the party of manipulation. What happened to the GOP?
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) was asked about his secret conspiracy memo, but instead of stopping to answer the question the guilty Trump stooge ran away.
