    Donald Trump, Politics, Racism

President Trump was in a meeting with a career intelligence analyst as part of a briefing on a family who will tentatively be released by militants in Pakistan. Instead of focusing on this very urgent matter, President Trump asked about her heritage.

President Trump waited until the briefing was over before he questioned the analyst. He asked her where she was from, and she replied with “New York.” Not satisfied, Trump pressed on, and inquired about the heritage of her “people.” When the analyst responded and said that her parents are from South Korea, he switched gears from racial curiosity to the weird realm of thinly-veiled sexism.

President Trump turned to one of his aides and asked why the “pretty Korean lady” was not working in his administration to help with negotiating efforts between South and North Korea. Take note that the name of the analyst was not released, but she has no experience in diplomacy; instead, she is an expert in hostage situations in the international community.

What Is Wrong With This Man?

President Donald Trump’s true colors have been revealed in the past couple of days. It has been widely reported that behind closed doors, President Trump thinks that Haiti and several African countries are “shithole countries.” This exchange happened during a Thursday meeting at the Oval Office when he was discussing immigration reform with lawmakers.

“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” President Trump callously asked the crowd. This was before he went on a tirade about wanting to import immigrants from countries like Norway.

President Trump hardly attempted to redeem himself with this incident, with a Friday tweet saying that he didn’t say “anything derogatory about Haitians other than Haiti is, obviously, a very poor and troubled country.”

Don’t expect him to apologize for his comments pertaining to the incident with the analyst. Disgusting.
