Donald Trump is so lacking in intelligence that he doesn’t even know when he’s f*cking himself over.
Donald Trump threw a little temper tantrum in front of reporters earlier today, ahead of his cabinet meeting. In a pathetic attempt to lash out at the press for “fake news” and negative (accurate) reporting against him, Trump screwed up and ended up condemning himself instead.
The entire speech to reporters was bizarre from the start, as Trump rattled off all of his “accomplishments”, which pretty much only included his disastrous tax bill. But after he was done stroking his own ego, Trump talked about his future plans for 2018 – and what he said threw everyone off.
When a president talks about their plans for the upcoming year, one might think that he would focus on critical items such as infrastructure or healthcare. But not Trump. What did this imposter speak about? Libel reform.
Lashing out at stunned reporters, Trump said:
“We are going to take a strong look at our country’s libel laws so that when somebody says something that is false and defamatory about someone that person will have meaningful recourse in our courts. If somebody says something that is totally false, and knowingly false, that person that has been abused, defamed, libeled will have meaningful recourse.”
“Our current libel laws are a sham and a disgrace and do not represent American values or American fairness.”
Clearly, this is Trump lashing out at the media thanks to Michael Wolff’s tell-all, “Fire and Fury: Inside The Trump White House.” But doesn’t Trump know that he’s pretty much condemned himself, as he’s the main perpetrator of information that is “totally false?” The Washington Post has recently reported that Trump just hit 2,000 lies told since he officially became President of the United States.
And of course, there’s another issue with Trump’s attack on the free press – Trump has no power to change libel laws, as it’s completely in the hands of the states. But of course, Trump is too stupid to know that.
