Ever since former White House advisor Steve Bannon was outed in Michael Wolff’s tell-all book “Fire and Fury: Inside The Trump White House” for all the horrible things he’s said about his former boss, Donald Trump has been attacking his ex-right hand man like it’s nobody’s business.
In reaction to Trump’s rage, Bannon has just humiliated himself by issuing a pathetic apology in a statement to Axios, in order to get back in Trump’s good graces. In the statement, Bannon apologized profusely for the things he said about Trump and his family, stating:
“My support is unwavering for the president and his agenda.”
Bannon also apologized for the unkind remarks he made about Trump’s son, Donald Trump, Jr.:
“Donald Trump, Jr. is both a patriot and a good man. He has been relentless in his advocacy for his father and the agenda that has helped turn our country around. My support is also unwavering for the president and his agenda — as I have shown daily in my national radio broadcasts, on the pages of Breitbart News and in speeches and appearances from Tokyo and Hong Kong to Arizona and Alabama.”
And for good measure, Bannon trashed the Russian investigation, hoping that it would score some points with his former boss:
“Everything I have to say about the ridiculous nature of the Russian ‘collusion’ investigation I said on my 60 Minutes interview. There was no collusion and the investigation is a ‘witch hunt.'”
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Trump is open to forgiveness when it comes to “Sloppy Steve.” Axios’ Mike Allen made an appearance today on CBS‘ Face the Nation and remarked that Trump is completely done with Bannon and that no apology could erase the damage that’s already been done. Allen said:
“The president is telling his allies to go out on TV and bury Steve Bannon.”
Allen is stating this just after Axios was reporting that Trump’s psychosis was working overtime to destroyBannon, as he recently spent time on the phones telling his supporters that they must choose between him and Bannon.
