Michael Wolff is an American author and journalist who recently penned Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, a book that chronicles his access to the White House, with passages allegedly showcasing sad tidbits of information about President Donald Trump – with one of these revelations being that he does not read.
CNN analysts extracted a quote from the book: “He didn’t process information in any conventional sense. He didn’t read. He didn’t really even skim. Some believed that for all practical purposes he was no more than semi-literate”, Wolff wrote.
One of the Republican CNN commentators, Kevin Madden, added that these revelations support what was known previously, adding that President Trump never ran as someone who’s a “policy expert.” At that point, CNN’s Jake Tapper interrupted and called out Madden, claiming that the president doesn’t read and he was too busy “putting a nice spin on it.”
You Know Who Reads? Our Previous President
While President Trump was busy tweeting and attempting to call out “fake news media” and “haters” on New Year’s Eve, former President Barack Obama revealed his list of books and songs that he enjoyed in 2017.
On New Year’s Eve, President Obama said that he used the “extra time” he had to catch up on the books and music that he enjoyed most. President Obama started a tradition during his tenure in the White House of publishing a reading list. Reading and intellectual curiosity were cornerstones of Barack Obama’s time in office, with the former president stating that reading books allowed him to maintain balance during his years as president. His list consists of inquisitive reads like “The Power” by Naomi Alderman, “Five-Carat Soul” by James McBride, and “Sing, Unburied, Sing” by Jesmyn Ward.
A book that President Trump did have in his possession was a book that compiled Hitler’s speeches, according to former wife, Ivana Trump.
But that’s none of my business.
