It appears as though Melania Trump is making a name for herself as the ‘independent’ First Lady as she is breaking away from her husband. Donald Trump is known for his often-inflammatory personality; most of Melania’s first lady initiatives have been quiet solo trips to address bullying and the opiod crisis. Much to her surprise, that is exactly what the people want from her.
According to a CNN poll taken from November 2 through November 5, survey participants were asked a series of questions about the Trump administration and how they viewed specific individuals. 48 percent have a favorable opinion of Melania Trump, a four-point jump from September when 44 percent had a favorable opinion of the first lady.
The latest reveals hows that of the 48 percent who have a favorable opinion of Melania Trump, 52 percent were men and 44 percent were women. 34 percent of the participants revealed seeing the first lady in an unfavorable light, with 28 percent of the men and 39 percent of the women feeling that way.
This poll’s results can be one of two things: Americans enjoy having a First Lady that is completely different from the man currently occupying space in the Oval Office/ Republicans believe Melania makes Trump ‘look better,’ or they feel sorry for Melania for having to endure Trump’s chaos and corruption thus making her the most popular individual in the White House.
For comparison purposes, perception of Ivanka Trump has dropped as the first daughter has been increasingly seen as a moderating force who makes an active effort to push forward certain policies. In other words, she is more like Trump and people refuse to support that.
