For the past eight years, former President Barack Obama has served the highest office position possible. Now as a U.S. citizen, he is serving our nation once again by performing one of he most fundamental, basic duties: Jury Duty.
Being a Chicago native, Obama has been summoned to serve jury duty next month in Cook County, Illinois, Chief Judge Timothy Evans said during a budget hearing. As of right now, there is no word on the exact date.
Back in 2010, Obama missed jury duty due to a meeting with the president of the Kurdistan region of Iraq. In other words, he was actually leading our country unlike the man currently occupying space in the Oval Office. Just like his presidency, Obama is committing to his citizen duties and attending his court date.
To prepare for and accommodate his arrival, the court will take extra security measures, Evans told the Chicago Tribune. “Obviously we will make certain that he has all the accouterments that accompany a former president,” Evans said. “His safety will be uppermost in our minds.”
Seriously doubt Donald Trump has ever done any civic duty of any kind. But when it comes to jury duty –personally, I wouldn’t want anybody so amazingly clueless and scatter-brained to serve on my jury. Plus of course, Ia 5 year-old man-child isn’t allowed to serve anyway.
