As President Trump’s national security adviser, Mike Flynn promoted a controversial private-sector nuclear power plan in the Middle East that had once involved Russian companies, according to former security-council staffers and others familiar with the effort, according to WSJ.
The individual behind-closed-doors meeting were former national security adviser Steve Bannon, and the president’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner.
Sources familiar with the meeting reported that Flynn’s nuclear deal, known as the “Marshall Plan,” was not discussed — but another source, who had “access to a document created by a law-enforcement agency about the meeting” said that it was, indeed, a topic of discussion.
Flynn’s multi-billion dollar “Marshall Plan” would have seen reactors built by American companies, but with security staffed by the Kremlin-owned firm Rosoboron, “an arms exporter currently facing US sanctions.”
The Marshall Plan (officially the European Recovery Program, ERP) was an American initiative to aid Western Europe, in which the United States gave over $13 billion (approximately $130 billion in current dollar value as of June 2016) in economic support to help rebuild Western European economies after the end of World War II. The plan was in operation for four years beginning on April 8, 1948. The goals of the United States were to rebuild war-devastated regions, remove trade barriers, modernize industry, make Europe prosperous once more, and prevent the spread of communism. The Marshall Plan required a lessening of interstate barriers, a dropping of many regulations, and encouraged an increase in productivity, labor union membership, as well as the adoption of modern business procedures.
How many more secret Republican meetings is Congress going to allow happen? The Trump administration is refusing to release White House visitors logs and isn’t even keeping visitor logs at Trump’s properties away from the White House, so who knows how many times Trump has met with Soviet Russian Communists in secret– and they called Hillary Clinton corrupt?
