If you’ve never seen someone read very poorly off a teleprompter then you’re in for a real treat, because Donald Trump is really the best, the best ever, the greatest, in fact, at not knowing how to make a speech look natural while reading.
In a public service announcement (PSA) to the nation from
The Eagle’s Nest presumably Trump Tower, Trump let us know how he feels after the horrific tragedy in Dallas, Texas, where five police officers were killed and seven more injured by a madman with a gun that shouldn’t be allowed for civilian purchase.
He then spoke of the Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, who are the two black men who were gunned down by police earlier this week. He said:
“The deaths of Alton Sterling in Louisiana and Philando Castile in Minnesota also make clear how much more work we have to do to make every American feel that their safety is protected.”
Okay, solid opening to this part of his PSA. He then says:
“Too many Americans are living in terrible poverty and violence. We need jobs and we’re going to produce those jobs.”
Basically saying, “If black people only had jobs…”
Following with that statement is just about as racist as the racism that causes some police officers to pull over black people for, well, being black. God forbid Trump recognize that racism is the key factor in these killings of people of color by the police, which has nothing to do with “jobs.”
Oh, but don’t worry, Trump, a known racist and embracer of all things white supremacist, does talk about racism. He said:
“Racial divisions have gotten worse, not better.”
This from the man who calls Mexicans rapists and murderers, Muslims terrorists, and retweets white supremacists regularly. I wonder why racial tensions have gotten worse and not better, Trump?
Now, grab a barf bag, because what he says next is truly vomit-worthy coming from him. He said:
“Now is the time for prayers, love, unity, and leadership. Our children deserve a better future then what we’re making them live through today. But to get them there, we must work together and stand together. We will make American safe again.”
“Unity” from the guy who is purposefully trying to divide and conquer, and “leadership” from the guy who isn’t only irresponsible in his verbiage and tone, but absolutely unqualified with no policy experience, foreign or domestic, whatsoever.
This guy is a joke, a horrible, racist joke, and should be treated as such.
